Testimonials

Miss Cullie’s joy and passion for music shines through in her interactions with the kids. Not only have they learned technical aspects of music; they have gained a deeper appreciation and love of music as well. My kids have described Miss Cullie as a joyful songbird.

Cullie Treichler’s vocal and rhythm workshop was inspirational for our community. She helped us to see that we are all musicians and that we could contribute to something larger than ourselves. The experience was transformative.

It is hard to capture in words the impact of a true teacher. Cullie’s love of her craft, her love for her students and the journey of the artist and their vocal expression is inspiring and infectious. As her student, I not only grew in my confidence and abilities as a singer, but in my awareness of my breath and very being. As a mom watching her work with my kids I feel such gratitude for the integrity and excellence she brings to their growth as young artists and human beings.

Cullie is a treasure! I could not ask for more in a voice teacher. She is compassionate, inspiring, and really listens to what you need rather than working out of her own agenda. I thought I would be terribly intimidated taking voice lessons from her as she is so talented herself, but she created a space for me to feel safe and encouraged. I have grown so much and am finding my own voice in the process. My lessons with Cullie are a highlight in my week and it is a joy to be one of her students.

Cullie, your singing/rhythm/movement event last night was so much fun. Thank you for knowing just the right way to herd us mewing cats. And thank you for being inspired to do so.

This quote from Brene Brown describes perfectly the gift you gave us:

Laughter, song, and dance create emotional and spiritual connection; they remind us of the one thing that truly matters when we are searching for comfort, celebration, inspiration, or healing: We are not alone.

I started taking a Women’s Group Vocal Class with Cullie, after feeling like my singing was so rusty. I was definitely too shy to sing in front of anyone. I was surprised to find such joy and warmth from Cullie that inspired each of us to play with sound in a variety of vocal and rhythm activities. Her kindness and positive spirit creates a safe space to learn and I never could have imagined that we would be performing an acapella piece on stage at the Tower Theatre. I also took individual vocal lessons with Cullie to develop confidence in my singing. Cullie has such a positive energy in her teaching style and finds ways to help encourage areas to grow and improve, that I found I was able to sing a broader range of notes comfortably, as she teaches how to keep the voice and body natural and at ease. I also enjoyed singing various styles of music from African music to beautiful folk styles to a jazz piece that was challenging, but fun!

We have a special needs child, soon to be a young adult. She has profound cerebral palsy that affects her speech and voice. Our daughter has been through many years of speech therapy and articulation drills. It wasn’t until she met with Cullie and started working with her that her disability started to change. She has made great progress, and can actually sing in tune. Her voice and articulation is much clearer and she is definitely more understandable. Cullie is very gentle, but firm with her and holds her to a high standard that she has risen to; and she loves Cullie. I would recommend Cullie Treichler to any parent as she is totally awesome and has great communication skills!

Working with Cullie, I have found her holistic approach combined with specific tips to be very beneficial to my singing. Throughout the years, I have had sporadic singing instruction, but I was previously not very satisfied with my progress. I finally feel like I have the right teacher who helps me feel relaxed and happy while singing, and the technique follows naturally. Thank you, Cullie!

Our (My) daughter enjoys acting in many local productions and musicals. When she started with Cullie, our (my) main goal was to give her the confidence to try out for a role that might include a solo and to “blend in” with the chorus. Cullie’s work has been incredible and our daughter always looks forward to her next lesson.

Cullie has been an amazing teacher. Se has helped me with things that I never new about; such as vowels and vocal dynamics. My voice has improved so much in the last year. I enjoyed performing in the recitals she invited me to participate in.

In my first 15 years as a worship pastor I struggled with feelings of inadequacy in my singing. Cullie has changed all of that. Not only do I feel confident in my singing ability, but I also sense an incredible amount of vocal freedom that allows me to fully express the worship I am feeling inside. This is what makes Cullie’s teaching so special – her passion and ability to help singers find greater vocal freedom so they can express their hearts to an audience in a deep and meaningful way.

Our Worship Teams have experienced her Exploring Vocal Freedom workshops on several occasions and I highly recommend her. She simply connects with people. Singers of all levels will find her teaching style to be both gentle and enjoyable and will come away with some excellent tools for finding greater freedom in their singing.
